Minutes of SDCC Zoom Meeting

February 23, 2026

Meeting was held via Zoom because of snow emergency in Salem, MA

Attendance: Liz Bradt, Lydia King, Joanne Moar, Micheal Cusik, Tyler Carlton-Kelly, Schuyler Ward, Deb Everett, 

The meeting was a forum for candidates running to be the Democratic Candidate for the Congressional 6^th District seat vacated by Seth Moulton.

There were also guest speakers representing candidates for Senate.

• Susannah Cornell from Ed Markey’s campaign

• Meredith McDonald from Seth Moulton’s campaign

• Alex Rikleen representing himself

The Candidates for the congressional nomination were each given 2 minutes to introduce themselves. Took questions from participants and had 90 seconds for their responses.

The Candidates that participated were

• Mariah Lancaster

• Rick Jakious

• State Rep. Tram Nguyen

• Jamie Belsito

• Bethany Andres-Beck

The meeting also included regular business

New Business

Councilor at Large, Kyle Davis introduced a Living Wage Ordinance to be voted on by City Council

It was announced that meetings going forward will be held at 6:30pm on Mondays at the CLC, 401 Bridge Street, Salem. This time was a result of responses to the survey sent out to members.   296 people were included 12 responded.

Our next meeting will be the Caucus on March 16^th at 7:00pm at the CLC
